MIKHAILO NAZARENKO

LECTURE

ALL ARE TRAVELLERS:

THE JOURNEY IS VAST IN MYTHS

AND LITERATURE

(UKRAINE)

Two of the four major plots in the writings of Borges are about the journey: the Search and the Return. How does a road organize space and time; how do roads and those who travel them change from epoch to epoch; and why are there comparatively few travels in Ukrainian literature between Kotlyarevsky’s Enei and Yohansen’s Doctor Leonardo - all this in the lecture by Mykhailo Nazarenko.

Mykhailo Nazarenko is a literary critic, prose writer, translator, an associate professor of Russian philology at the Taras Shevchenko University Institute of Philology.
