Folk Kitchen is an installation, a series of events, and a meeting place for different urban communities. The opening involved a large common meal prepared by local festival participants and artists. The kitchen itself was built with the help of, and in dialogue with, local forces using collected, recycled materials. 

 

Bureau Detours is a creative organization greatly interested in creating social environments in public spaces. They work in a mix of art, design, architecture and city planning. The key to their success is inspiring young and old alike to relate and bond with their city and neighborhood. People from a diverse mix of disciplines like designers, craftsmen, architects and visual artists work together to solve the task ahead. The bureau is mainly based in Denmark; however, it is also organized in small cells located in different European cities.
