SERGEY FILATOV, JACOB REMIN

SOUND SCULPTURE PERFORMANCE

(RUSSIA, DENMARK)

In their project, artists Sergey Filatov and Jacob Remin attempt to use sound performance to study the ability of media objects to absorb and manipulate things that were once physical. In real time, using DIY sound recording technology, the artists analyzed the sounds made by Wi-Fi signals and other circulating media infrastructures.

 

Jacob Remin lives and works in Copenhagen, Denmark. His artistic practice explores the role of technology in contemporary society. Remin creates interactive spaces, using light, sound, and performance in a process that gives birth to dialogue between artist and audience.

 

Sergey Filatov is a visual and sound artist, musician, writer, and inventor of musical instruments and sound sculptures. He is a member of the Artists’ Union of Russia, the UNESCO International Association of Art, and the Russian sound art community.
